In the Ritz-Carlton, Cantina Beach is a thatched hut on the beach that serves refined Mexican fare. They are known for their extensive selection of tequilas and unbelievable food. Local favorites include the barbacoa tacos, chips, and guacamole, the chicken fajita with mango salsa, and churros with chocolate.

Shopping options are plentiful in Key Biscayne, and many small outdoor malls exist. On Crandon Boulevard is The Island Shop department store with fantastic gift options, housewares, and clothing in a bright and clean upscale atmosphere.

Another excellent shopping district on Crandon Boulevard is The Galleria Shopping Center. This small outdoor shopping mall offers a variety of restaurants and stores. Enjoy Italian at Randazzo’s or fine Indian cuisine at Ayesha, where they have a casual and cozy atmosphere.

Things to Do in Key Biscayne


Residents of Key Biscayne have multiple entertainment and activity options available. Living in a town surrounded by water and nature allows locals to enjoy beach activities, boating, and fishing. In addition, residents participate in many beach cleanup events to help keep the community beautiful and clean for residents and visitors.

The Miami International Boat Show is a favorite event in downtown Miami and Miami Beach. The event showcases everything new in boating and water sports. Additionally, there are opportunities for hands-on testing and interactive educational information. The show also focuses on sustainability and conservation, and there are many areas where they feature new designs and ideas.

South of Key Biscayne is Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. The park encompasses one-third of the key and is a popular weekend getaway for locals and Miami residents. Activities at the park include multiple walking and biking paths, beach access, and fishing locations. There is also a bar and two restaurants, one along the northwest side of the park and the other on Cape Florida Beach.

The state park is also home to the Cape Florida Lighthouse, a historic site offering guided tours and fantastic bay and ocean views. The lighthouse was built in 1825 and is the oldest structure in Miami-Dade. The Lighthouse Keepers Cottage, a replica of the original, is also on the site and is open to tours. The home features replicated antiques and artifacts to showcase the life of the lighthouse keeper.
