With access to various dining and entertainment options, residents of Pinecrest have many options for a night or day out. Pinecrest Parkway is lined with numerous shops and restaurants and is considered the shopping district for the village.

In the Village Plaza, Sakura Japanese Restaurant is a local favorite with traditional Japanese offerings in a casual but traditional venue. Patrons enjoy sushi, miso soup, or a teriyaki chicken dinner while sipping sake or a Japanese beer.

Also in the Village Plaza is Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream, a high-tech ice cream parlor that uses nitrogen to flash-freeze ice cream, coconut or almond milk, and frozen yogurt. You can also find the Meadow Collective Boutique, where you can purchase phenomenal women's clothing, home goods, jewelry, and a selection of health and beauty products in a hip and fun atmosphere.

The Suniland South Shopping mall is home to Pinecrest Bakery, a Cuban bakery considered by locals to be a hidden gem. They are open 24 hours a day and serve fantastic Cuban patelitos, sandwiches, and desserts. Additionally, they offer large platters and cakes for special events and meetings.

A short drive to the Dadeland Mall will bring you to Ceviche 105, a Peruvian restaurant with a hip and industrial feel. The restaurant features fantastic cocktails, famous ceviches, and many traditional Peruvian dishes. Dadeland Mall has several upscale national restaurants. In addition, the mall also features excellent shopping spots with luxury brands such as Saks Fith Avenue, Michael Kors, and Tommy Bahama.

Things to Do


Pinecrest has a variety of events for residents and visitors to enjoy. Pinecrest Gardens is known for its performing arts events, with dance, opera, and children’s choirs taking the stage.

The Pinecrest Gardens Farmers Market takes place on Sundays and features local produce and meats. In addition, you can buy coffee and food from various vendors on site. The park also features a kid-friendly, ADA-accessible art park and garden, along with a botanical garden area. The park also features a petting zoo and walking paths allowing for fantastic river and lake views.

Another local favorite is the Wayside Market, an outdoor produce market and juice bar that offers everything from fruit shakes to snow cones and baked goods. The market is open daily and has picnic tables for shoppers to enjoy their food on-site.

The Mango Festival is at the Fairchild Botanical Gardens and features cooking demonstrations and mango tastings. Patrons enjoy mango smoothies and cocktails from various food vendors with mango-themed offerings. In addition, there is music, lawn games, and other fun activities for all ages.

The Fairchild Botanical Gardens also hosts many other events, including a dog date stroll and multiple sip and stroll events featuring a variety of musical performances, depending on the night's theme. The gardens are also home to the International Chocolate Festival, where attendees enjoy everything chocolate, from decadent desserts to savory dishes and chocolate confections. There are also chocolate classes and demonstrations by chocolatiers and artists.

Residents also enjoy access to the R. Hardy Matheson Preserve, which offers hiking, boating, and fishing along Biscayne Bay. Nestled next to the preserve is the Mongomery Botanical Center. It is known for its palm and cycad walks, allowing visitors to experience the park's collection of beautiful cycads and majestic palm trees while enjoying other native plants.
